While Chelsea has some charming areas to live in, others are less desirable. There are some pockets of high crime, but mostly the neighborhood is a quaint place to live. It has a strong neighborhood feel to it. Though there is an abundance of apartments, there is also a strong manufacturing presence in Chelsea. Apartments in Chelsea range from $550 per month to $1,000 per month in rent. That puts most apartments in Chelsea in the rent-stabilized category that provides renters with a great deal of protection. Chelsea provides good public transportation and a relatively low crime rate compared with the rest of New York City.
