Brooklyn, is one of the first places people look for apartments for rent in New York. Brooklyn is New York city’s largest boroughs in population with approximately 2.5 million residents. It is second in area next to Queens. Brooklyn like it’s neighboring borough of Queens has a ethnic diversity. Brooklyn is also home to many Russians and Ukrainians, who are mainly concentrated in community of Brighton Beach and Sheepshead Bay. Brighton Beach features many Russian and Ukrainian businesses. Because of the large Ukrainian community, it has been nicknamed “Little Odessa.” But one of the most popular neighborhoods in Brooklyn among people looking for apartments for rent in New York is Williamsburg.
When looking for apartments for rent in New York that have the most fun? That would be Williamsburg, it is a neighborhood bordering Greenpoint to the north, Bedford-Stuyvesant to the south, Bushwick and Ridgewood, Queens to the east and the East River to the west. It is relatively known as a hub for the “hipster” community. In my research I found a website that keeps track of events, restaurants and places to catch a drink. The site covers Williamsburg very well and can be found on http://www.freewilliamsburg.com On the construction aspect it is rapidly increasing in housing development. There has been a surge of building permits in this area lately mostly from rehabbing most of the older buildings. You won’t see new construction in this neighborhood but most apartments that have been renovated are using the same decor. They differ to the apartments for rent in New York city. Here you will find the brick face walls that make these apartments distinct from other apartments in the same borough. A majority of the apartments are using the original wood floors and non-usable fireplaces that came with the building to give it a feel of comfort. Most buildings are walk ups and you’ll rarely find an elevator building.
So where is all the action in this town you ask. The main street of Williamsburg is known as Bedford avenue. It is here where you will find the nightlife. It is the the neighborhood’s main street, is lined with popular restaurants, bars, cafes and clothing boutiques from trendy to upscale. To get in and out of Williamsburg you are served by three subway lines, the L on the north J, M, Z on the south and the G on the east, and by the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. If you are in the search of an apartments for rent in New York and Williamsburg is your choice of residence your average rent for a one bedroom is around $2000. Which is slightly more expensive if you compare it to other neighborhoods but you do get excitement here.
